General Tools DCS400 Professional Video Borescope Inspection System
The General Tools model DCS400 has been discontinued.
Hello everyone. Today we are going to take a quick look at a Borescope system from General Tools – the General Tools DCS400. This is a lower cost unit that is high on performance and has some cool special features as well.
One of the most important features is that the probe has a protection rating of IP67. In English, this basically means that it is water and dust proof. Not 100% technically, but enough so that it can be used in almost all your typical plumbing and automotive applications. So you don’t need to worry at all about getting it a little wet or dirty (the probe that is, don’t dunk the screen underwater!). Speaking of the screen, the monitor is detachable and can provide remote viewing of the borescope’s image up to 32 feet away. The screen onboard provides a solid 320x240 resolution for videos and recordings of your inspections can be saved to the included SD card for analysis and catalogues on a PC. Another great feature of the General Tools DCS400 the optional extensions that are offered for the probe. They can extend the length of the camera probe significantly and are super easy to use – simply screw them on and go. Additionally, the camera head features adjustable LED lighting, making it perfect for use in dimly lit areas in construction applications as well as dark pipes that are found in the plumbing world.
All in all, if you need a quality Borescope for various kinds of inspection work and you don’t want to break the bank, the DCS400 may be a good option for you. It comes with the added benefit of being somewhat modular so you don’t need to worry about making the wrong choice.
Until next week.
