TSI 9545-A Velocicalc Air Velocity Meter Review
Greetings all. Today we are going to take a look at the TSI 9545-A Velocicalc Air Velocity Meter – a rugged field-designed airflow meter with laboratory accuracy. This meter is packed to the gills with features and we’ll take a look at some of them below.
First off, the TSI 9545-A Velocicalc takes all your standard measurements for checking proper function at a vent, including Air Velocity, temperature, humidity, dew point, and wet bulb. These are the features that you will get in a standard, albeit, upscale, thermo-anemometer.
The TSI 9545-A air velocity meter also features and articulating probe tip, so you don’t need to worry about the angel at which you are required to take measurements (that’s what the “A” at the end of the part number signifies). The display on the unit can show you 3 different measurements simultaneously, so there is no inconvenient screen or meter switching in the middle of a job or test.
Now we get to the features which really set this meter apart. Using the various readings detailed above, the TSI 9545-A can calculate Volumetric Flow Rate, giving you not only the speed and temp of the air but actually how much is being output.
On top of this great feature the unit features extensive datalogging capability with up to 12,700 samples with 100 test IDs which can be reviewed using TSI software. All TSI instruments also come standard with NIST calibration, so for commercial jobs where insurance or government are involved, this is one of your best and most convenient air measurement options – right out of the box.
Anyone have any thoughts on the value of buying up-scale instruments for using on insurance or government jobs?
See you all next time.
