Hey everyone, today’s post is going to take a look at the improvements the Testo 875i-2 makes over the Testo 875-1. The Testo 875i-2 is simply an upgraded model in the same family, so outwardly these cameras are going to look the same but once you get under the hood you’ll find the superior features that make the 875i-2 top of the line.

The most important difference between the two is the thermal sensitivity, which is 80mK on the 875-1 and 50mK on the 875i-2. The simplest way to explain the difference is that the lower the NETD (Noise Equivalent Temperature Difference) number in mK, the more efficient the camera will be, displaying and recording a good quality image where a camera with a higher number would not be able to find problems due to interference and inability to make small temperature differentiations. So bottom line, the lower the number equals higher quality, professional looking, and easy to understand images.

The 875i-2 also features more than triple the refresh rate, so it will fluidly and more accurately represent changes as you move the camera around and track objects in the field. It features a higher overall temperature range and more color palette options for your images as well.

Finally, the 875i-2 provides Testo’s TwinPix technology which allows you to overlay visual images with your thermograms for more complete data records and easier object location. Ultimately, both are high quality machines but the 875i-2 is the choice to make if you want the best upgrades, measurements and features.
